Nana Oduro SarfoExecutive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nana Oduro Sarfo has opposed calls for the continuous suspension of the Ghana Premier League amid investigations into the murder of Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.Nana Pooley, a devoted fan of Asante Kotoko, tragically lost his life in Nsoatre after being stabbed during Kotokos Week 19 encounter against Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League.Subsequently, the Ghana FA announced the suspension of all Week 20 games, in a move aimed at creating space for the association to engage with relevant stakeholders and discuss the ramifications of the violence that led to the loss of life.Speaking to Akoma FM on Tuesday, Nana Oduro Sarfo made a strong case for why the Ghana Premier League must resume. We cannot give a total blackout to football, we need to meet a calendar. The issue that happened in Nsoatre was not football, it was murder. It was someone killing somebody in debatable circumstances whether in or outside the stadium walls. So blacklisting all football matches, in my opinion, will not result in good order, Nana Oduro Sarfo argued. He proposed that what must be prioritised is the implementation of the various regulations to ensure the violent clashes witnessed during Nsoatreman FCs encounter against Asante Kotoko do not repeat itself.
