Bashir Hayford insists winning the Premier League title is not a priority for Heart of Lions
Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford has claimed winning the Ghana Premier League title is not a priority for his club as they are focused on safeguarding their top-flight status.The Kpando-based side are enjoying a fabulous campaign where they are just a point behind leaders Asante Kotoko with 33 points.Lions travel to the capital to battle giants Hearts of Oak in the top liner for match day 19 of the Ghanaian top-flight, scheduled to take place at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday January 31, 2025.Ahead of the match, Bashir Hayford has rebuffed pressure on his team by insisting Lions are not interested in winning the Ghanaian elite division crown.expectation now is very high because of the change in position. The playing body has decided not to go back to what happened to us last season. We will try to win our matches and at the end of it all, if we are able to amass points that can win us the league, so be it, Hayford said.We have not targeted the league title. We are not sticking our neck out that we are winning the league.
