Former Chelsea stars Michael Essien and Carlton Cole are facing the prospect of imprisonment in Indonesia after their club Persib Bandung admitted it had not acquired work permits for the high-profile duo. The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr John Peter Amewu, has directed Seven Sea Salt Company, the salt mining entity at the centre of the clashes at Adina in the Ketu South District of the Volta Region, to stop drawing underground water for its operations with immediate effect.

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said the government has saved the country $300 million by reviewing and prioritising some Power Purchase Agreements. A 20-year-old Virginia Commonwealth University student was killed overnight in the Carver neighborhood, adjacent to the university. Samuel Kwarteng, from Alexandria, Va., was shot and killed during an altercation off campus in the 1200 block of W. Moore Street, VCU President Michael Rao announced. Kwarteng resided in the 1700 block of Jacqulin Street, according to police, and the suspect charged with involuntary manslaughter resided at the Moore St. home.
