Traffic has resumed on the Accra-Tema Motorway following a protest triggered by a hit-and-run incident. The protest, which resulted in significant traffic disruption, was organized by local residents demanding better road safety measures.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Outraged by the lack of immediate action and frequent accidents on the motorway, residents took to the streets, blocking traffic to draw attention to their concerns.
The Police Service responded swiftly, dispatching officers to the scene to engage with the protesters and assure them that steps would be taken to enhance road safety and address their grievances.
Following these assurances, the road was cleared, and normal traffic flow has since resumed on the motorway.
