Stanbic Bank Ghana has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to Ghana’s agricultural development with the donation of a brand-new Massey Ferguson tractor to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA). The gesture forms part of the bank’s continued support toward the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration scheduled for December 5, 2025.
The tractor was officially handed over at a brief ceremony at the Ministry in Accra, where officials from both Stanbic Bank and MoFA underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing Ghana’s agricultural agenda.
Speaking at the event, the Head of Brand and Marketing at Stanbic Bank Ghana, Mawuko Afadzinu, noted that the agricultural sector remains one of the most indispensable pillars of the country’s socio-economic wellbeing. He emphasized that the contribution of farmers goes beyond food production, influencing national stability, job creation, and community livelihoods.
“Our farmers are the backbone of our nation’s progress. Everything we enjoy, from food security to the countless value chains that sustain industries begins with the tireless work of farmers. As a bank that believes deeply in driving Ghana’s growth, we are committed to consistently supporting the agricultural sector so it remains resilient, productive, and globally competitive.”
Mr. Afadzinu added that agriculture occupies a central place in Stanbic Bank’s strategy for national development, hence the bank’s readiness to invest in initiatives that strengthen the sector. “At Stanbic, agriculture is a sector we consider essential to Ghana’s long-term prosperity. Our support to this year’s Farmers’ Day celebration is a continuation of an 18-year tradition of walking hand-in-hand with our farmers. We remain dedicated to ensuring that their work becomes more seamless, sustainable, and technologically enabled,” he added.
For nearly two decades, Stanbic Bank has remained one of the most consistent corporate supporters of the National Farmers’ Day celebration, offering donations, mechanization support, and financial empowerment programs to honor the nation’s food producers.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Ministry, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, commended Stanbic Bank for what he described as “a remarkable and unwavering demonstration of corporate citizenship.” He acknowledged the bank’s role in helping the Ministry achieve its broader vision of transforming Ghana’s agricultural landscape.
“Stanbic Bank has proved, year after year, that they are deeply invested in Ghana’s development. This tractor will go a long way in enhancing productivity among our farmers. We appreciate the bank’s sustained partnership and look forward to working closely with them to strengthen the agricultural value chain.”
Mr. Opoku further assured Stanbic Bank that the Ministry remains committed to fostering a collaborative environment where private sector partners can thrive while contributing meaningfully to national development.
The Stanbic delegation present at the ceremony included Samuel Okang-Boye, Head of Agribusiness; Head of Communications and Reputation Management, Derick Romeo Adogla; and Ama Amissah Wujangi, External Communications and Events Manager.
