Tomorrow, Saturday September 27, is World Tourism Day, and this year it is being commemorated under the Theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”.
A tree planting exercise to mark the day will be undertaken in Agavedzi, a community in the Ketu South District, Volta Region, and crowned with a rich display of culture and heritage at a grand durbar of Chiefs in Somè, in Klikor-Agbozume.
A Black Star Experience listed program, the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Creative Arts and it’s agencies, the Ghana Tourism Authority and Ghana Tourism Development Company are leading the charge to celebrate this important day in tourism with a myriad of immersive activities including an exploration of canoe rides on the Avu Lagoon in the Keta area, as well as visits to explore the historic treasures at the Hedzranawo Museum and Fort Prezinstein.
Apart from a bonfire to Borborbor night, there will also be opportunity to enjoy the taste of authentic Ghanaian cuisine, music and cultural performances in Aflao, where tradition meets modernity in grand style.
