The Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal, also known as the Boankra Inland Port project at Boankra near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region is progressing steadily.
The project, which is 82% complete is expected to significantly reduce transport costs and boost exports of products like cocoa, shea-butter, wood and to ease congestion at Ghana’s seaports and facilitate transit trade for landlocked neighbours.
The Ag. CEO of Ghana Shippers Authority, (GSA) Prof. Ransford Edward Gyampo has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and commended the efforts of Justmoh Construction Limited, a Ghanaian-owned construction firm in executing the project.
Prof. Gyampo applauded the progress of work when he paid a working visit to the project site recently to learn at first hand the status of the project and to familiarize himself with current development which he sees as a critical infrastructure project aimed at enhancing Ghana’s transportation network and boosting economic growth.
The inland port will serve as a hub for the transportation of goods and cargo, reducing congestion at the country’s ports and improving trade facilitation.
Prof. Gyampo has assured the government’s support for the project’s completion, emphasizing the need to engage local-based companies in such projects stressing that they have the capacity to deliver, and so it is essential to support them.
He explained that despite the financial challenges the construction company faces, the company is putting effort into accelerating the progress of the project and meeting all deadlines reiterating that they are doing a wonderful job.
The project’s completion is expected to have a significant impact on Ghana’s economy, creating jobs and stimulating growth in the transport and logistics sectors. With the government’s support and the expertise of local companies like Justmoh Construction Limited, the Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal is poised to become a critical component of Ghana’s economic infrastructure.

Dr. Justice Amo, Chief Executive Officer of Justmoh Construction Limited, has given his assurance to Prof. Ransford Edward Gyampo and his team that his company would deliver exceptional work on the Boankra Inland Port project, justifying the significant investment made by the country.
This commitment according to Dr Amo is a testament to Justmoh Construction’s dedication to excellence and its role in driving Ghana’s economic growth.
The Project Director of Boankra Inland Port, Dr. J.B Koranteng Yorke, said so far, phase one of the project is almost completed and after completion it can be used.
He however emphasized that the company is expecting financial clearance from the government to speed up work at the site.The Boankra Inland Port project is an ambitious initiative, covering a total land area of 413 acres in the Ashanti Region which aims to establish a major logistics terminal that will link the ports of Tema and Takoradi to the inner parts of Ghana and the landlocked countries of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger with the primary purpose to ease congestion at Ghana’s seaports and facilitate transit trade landlocked neighbours.
