Winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024 and Founder of EcoGreen Oases Legacy, Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, led a heartwarming and impactful outreach initiative dubbed “Eid of Hope & Unity” at the Nsawam Female Prisons, bringing smiles, nourishment, and dignity to incarcerated women and officers in celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The initiative, themed “Restoring Hope, Rekindling Dreams,” extended far beyond the symbolic significance of Eid. It sought to inspire compassion, social inclusion, and support for a vulnerable yet often overlooked group in society.
The event featured a sumptuous buffet of Ghanaian delicacies, including Jollof rice with chicken, Banku with pepper and fish, Fufu with goat light soup, and TZ with ayoyo and beef/fish, complemented by chilled drinks and bottled water.
In addition to the celebratory meals, EcoGreen Oases Legacy donated a significant quantity of essential relief items to the facility, including: 6 bags of uncooked rice; 2 boxes of tin tomatoes; 3 boxes of mackerel; 2 gallons of cooking oil; 2 boxes of biscuits; 2 boxes of bathing soap; 1 box of washing soap; 2 packs of washing powder; 3 packs of sanitary tissue; 10 boxes of sanitary pads, 20 boxes of Vitamilk drinks; 60 packs of Special Ice drinks and bottled water; 1 box of A4 paper; 1 box of pens; 1 box of pencils and Attendance occurrence books.
Queen Titiaka shared on her social media, “More than a festive occasion, it was a moment to restore dignity, spread love, and share hope with our sisters and mothers behind bars. The smiles and gratitude we witnessed were truly heartwarming, a reminder that change begins with empathy.” She continued, “Empowering communities for climate action goes beyond afforestation and recycling. It’s about restoring dignity and creating inclusive spaces where no one is left behind, not even those behind bars. This outreach is a reminder that the fight for climate justice must also include social justice. We are building a future where sustainability includes compassion, education, and second chances.”
The success of the outreach was made possible through the support of key partners and sponsors. The Forestry Commission, as lead partner, reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and social impact. Other sponsors such as HalferPay, Vitamilk Ghana, Chef With Purpose, and Special Ice Company Ltd. also played pivotal roles in providing resources, logistics, and nourishment for the inmates and staff.
The Ghana Prisons Service was instrumental in hosting the outreach, with the administration of the Nsawam Female Prisons offering remarkable hospitality and cooperation. Their professionalism and compassion underscored the importance of such interventions in national rehabilitation and reintegration efforts.
With initiatives like “Eid of Hope & Unity,” Queen Titiaka and the EcoGreen Oases Legacy continue to champion inclusive development—bringing climate advocacy, social support, and empowerment to the heart of communities that need it most.
