American rapper Ja Rule has revealed that he once recorded a song with a Ghanaian artiste over a decade ago, but cannot remember which artiste it was.
Ja Rule made this revelation in an interview with JoyNews on April 1, 2025 ahead of the commissioning of a six-unit classroom block at the Nuaso Anglican Basic School in the Eastern Region.
The project, which he initiated last year in partnership with the non-profit organisation Pencils of Promise (PoP), aims to improve learning conditions for young students in Ghana.
Ja Rule commissioned the six unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities at St John’s Anglican Basic School in Nuaso in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region on April 1, 2025.
He funded the project which he collaborated with Pencils of Promise (PoP), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) focused on increasing access to quality education.
Ja Rule recalled in an interview that he had a studio session with a Ghanaian artiste 15 years ago but could not remember the exact details of the session.
“I did a record long time ago with a Ghanaian artiste, I have forgotten his name but this was like 10 or 15 years ago when I came over here. we recorded in the studio and it was Dope…Afrobeat is really big right now,” Ja Rule said.
Following his statement, Ghanaian artiste Kojo Cue claimed the said artiste in question is rapper Tinny.
Videos of Ja Rule in a studio with Tinny in Ghana have since emerged on social media. Also, there are rumours that the track was intended to appear on one of Ja Rule’s album but the song was never released for unknown reasons.
Meanwhile, Morris Babyface, a Ghanaian music producer in a post on Facebook shared a snippet of a song he featured Ja Rule titled ‘Hey Love.’
It was Tinny for MadHouse … label owner caught some charges and song never came out. https://t.co/TCJ85v4Xit
