
Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has paid a courtesy call on Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, at the Regional Coordinating Council in Kumasi on Thursday, April 3.
In a post on his Facebook page, the Interior Minister said that this engagement was part of his broader stakeholder engagement efforts aimed at promoting peace and security across the nation.
Recognizing the pivotal role that community leaders play in fostering social cohesion, he said he is scheduled to meet with Christian and Muslim religious leaders, as well as Zongo chiefs.
These interactions aim to leverage their influence in advocating for national cohesion and harmony as well as collaborative approaches to addressing prevailing security challenges, he said.
“I also intend to engage with various agencies under my ministry within the region. The objective is not only to boost their morale but also to encourage these dedicated officers as they strive towards fulfilling their mandates effectively,” the Minister said.
In acknowledging the critical nature of their work, he added., it is essential that they are supported and motivated in their roles, especially when confronting issues related to public safety and security.
The Asawase lawmaker further stated that the Regional Minister Dr. Amoakohene warmly welcomed him into his office and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the Interior Ministry toward enhancing security measures within the region.
“He [ Dr Amoakohene] candidly highlighted several key security challenges currently afflicting the Ashanti Region and sought collaborative solutions that could mitigate these issues effectively.
“I reassured him of my commitment to working closely together with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure that crime does not go unpunished in any part of our nation, including Asanteman.
