Photos: New Chief of Defence Staff visits Army HQ for the first time

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Maj General William Agyapong, paid his maiden visit to the Army Headquarters on Wednesday, 2 April 2025.

The objective was to familiarize himself with the operations of the Headquarters.

He was welcomed by the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Maj General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu.

The host briefed him and his entourage on the Headquarters’ operational, logistical and administrative state of the Army as well as its challenges.

Maj General Agyapong on his part, congratulated Maj General Gbetanu on his appointment, pledged his full support and expressed confidence in his leadership.

During the visit, the CDS also inspected the ongoing Army Headquarters office complex project and committed to aiding its completion in the coming months.
