Media General’s subsidiary, Connect FM in Takoradi has held its maiden Chorale Music Festival with patrons asking for a repeat.
The event brought together hundreds of music lovers to indulge in an evening of soul-stirring choral music.
Since its commissioning in 2015, Connect FM has become a household name in the Western, Western North, and Central regions, thanks to its engaging programs and content. One of its flagship programs, ‘Hymns of Salvation,’ has gained immense popularity among choral music lovers.
Building on this success, the host, Ebenezer Kwame Abeka, and the management introduced the exciting ‘Chorale Festival.’ The inaugural festival brought together 15 chorale groups from greater Sekondi Takoradi.
Following the captivating performances by the participating groups, Michael Gawu, Events, Promotions, and Marketing Manager of Connect FM, expressed his enthusiasm and outlined the station’s future plans, highlighting the success of the inaugural Chorale Festival and the prospects for upcoming events.

“Yes, this being our maiden edition, I think it’s been wonderful, considering the impressive turnout. We’d like to extend our gratitude to the Western Region, particularly Sekondi-Takoradi, for their overwhelming participation. As we approach our 10th anniversary in the coming months, we’re planning to host another Chorale Festival during the celebrations, followed by a year-end event in December”.
“As an Event Manager, I firmly believe that events drive the station’s engagement. Our listeners can expect exceptional experiences from us moving forward, and we’re committed to delivering the best from Connect FM,” he assured.
Several patrons who attended the maiden edition of the Chorale Festival expressed their delight and satisfaction with the program, with many calling for the event to be held at least twice a year, citing its uplifting and entertaining value.
Frederick Cudjoe shared his thoughts, saying “The Connect Chorale Festival has been a resounding success, especially considering its being the first edition. The attendance has been impressive, and the various choirs delivered outstanding performances.”

“As the audience departs the auditorium, they’re all beaming with excitement. I sincerely hope this event can be repeated frequently, ideally every quarter or at least every six months, to continue spreading joy and uplifting spirits.”
Afful Eshun shared his impressions of the event, saying, “This has been an unforgettable evening of inspirational choral music, featuring performances by various talented choir groups. The program has exceeded our expectations, and we believe it has the potential to become an annual event.”

“Although this is the maiden edition, we’re thrilled with the impressive turnout and the high level of enthusiasm. We’re confident that this event will continue to grow and succeed in the years to come.”
Nana Kwesi Sarfo, Head of Marketing for Kantanka Herbal and Pharmaceutical Services, the lead sponsor of the Connect Chorale Festival, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Connect FM.

He was thrilled with the impressive turnout and promised to collaborate with Connect FM on future projects.
“It’s been a truly lovely event, with numerous choirs performing, filling the air with beautiful music and laughter. We’re honored to be the title sponsors of this wonderful event. Music has the power to ignite our souls, and at Kantanka Herbal, we believe that our supplements can help people maintain their health and well-being.”
“We’re delighted with the success of this event and look forward to many more editions that will bring joy and smiles to the faces of the people. So far, it’s been an outstanding experience,” he stated.
The event, themed “Singing Together, Stronger Together,” drew an impressive array of dignitaries from both the clergy and political spheres, underscoring the power of music to unite and inspire.
