Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has spoken publicly for the first time since her reported illness, assuring Ghanaians of her well-being.
In an Eid Mubarak message to the Muslim community, she extended warm wishes and gratitude, marking her first official communication following her recent health scare.
Her statement comes after reports emerged that she had been receiving urgent medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after falling ill on Friday, March 28, 2025.
In response to concerns from the public, Government Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu had confirmed that medical experts recommended additional care overseas.
However, a later update from Eric Adjei, a former deputy spokesperson for her 2024 campaign, reassured Ghanaians that she was in good health.
In her message, Opoku-Agyemang praised the dedication and values of the Muslim community and expressed appreciation for the outpouring of well-wishes she received over the weekend.
“Likewise, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,”she stated in the official message.
