
The Teshie Nungua district Court ‘2’ has adjourned the case involving in the shooting of lawrencia Naa Borley also known as Naa Gamu during her enstoolment to April 16.
This is because Prosecution is seeking more time to finalize their investigations.
Family and friends of the late victim as well as relatives of the accused, gathered at the Teshie Nungua District Court 2 to witness court proceedings on Thursday.
The suspect, Samuel Adjei, who is facing charges of unlawful possession of firearms and murder, was brought to court by the Police CID.
The Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Imoro Ignatius told the presiding judge, Her Worship Georgette Camel Luterotte, that the postmortem report was ready, but they were awaiting the ballistic report to finalize their investigations.
As a result, the case has been adjourned for two weeks as suspect remains in remand.
It would be recalled that tragedy struck in Nungua as Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson, popularly known as Naa GAMU, the newly enstooled Queen of the Ga-Adangme Muslim Union (Nungua West), was shot and killed during her enstoolment ceremony over the weekend.
According to eyewitnesses, the celebratory event took a horrific turn when gunfire erupted, fatally striking Naa GAMU.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect, who is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities have assured the public that a comprehensive investigation is underway to bring the perpetrator(s) to justice. The incident has left the Nungua community in mourning, with many calling for enhanced security measures at traditional events.
