The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed that clubs scheduled to face Nsoatreman FC will receive three points and three goals, as per Article 13(5) of the competition regulations.
This decision comes after the GFA has officially accepted Nsoatreman FC’s withdrawal from the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.
Nsoatreman FC officially communicated their withdrawal to the GFA on March 14, 2025, citing player safety and security concerns.
The club’s decision is a direct result of the unrest surrounding their match against Asante Kotoko in February, which tragically led to the death of devoted Kotoko fan, Nana Pooley and subsequent arrests, including club owner Ignatius Baffuor Awuah.
Despite the league’s month-long suspension and security reforms, Nsoatreman FC faced another attack while traveling to play Samartex, prompting their exit from the league.
The GFA has referred the case to its Prosecutor, and disciplinary proceedings will follow.
As a result of Nsoatreman FC’s withdrawal, their remaining fixtures will be considered forfeited, with their opponents receiving three points and three goals.
The GFA Prosecutor will also review the situation and consider additional punitive measures against Nsoatreman FC.
This development will undoubtedly impact the league’s standings and create a ripple effect throughout the competition.
