The Ghana Premier League resumed with matchday 23 action after a brief suspension following the tragic passing of an Asante Kotoko fan during a matchday 19 game between Nsoatreman and Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Nana Kormansah Park in Nsoatre. At the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa, Ibrahim Tanko’s side staged an impressive comeback to secure a 3-1 victory over Bechem United on Sunday.
Bechem United had a dream start to the game, breaking the deadlock in the 6th minute through Delvin Yeboah. The visitors looked lively in the early exchanges, taking advantage of Medeama’s slow start. However, the Mauve and Yellows responded well and found an equalizer through Osah Bernardinho Tetteh, restoring parity before the break.
The game remained tightly contested until the 68th minute when Medeama’s Michael Sarpong capitalized on a defensive lapse to put the hosts in front. Bechem United pushed for a response but struggled to break down Medeama’s well-organized defense.
Substitute Kelvin Nkrumah sealed the victory in stoppage time, finishing off a well-worked move to make it 3-1. The result sees Medeama climb to 6th place on the table, two points ahead of Bechem United.
The match saw a brief spell of heavy rainfall in the first half, but it did not disrupt the flow of the game, as both teams played through the challenging conditions.
Medeama SC will look to build on this victory as they push for a strong finish to the season, while Bechem United will aim to bounce back in their next fixture.
Medeama travel to Abrankese next to face Nations Fc.
