I’m considering acting this year – Mr Drew

Ghanaian Afrobeats musician, Mr Drew has disclosed that he will soon add acting to his music career.

Mr Drew who studied Theatre Arts at the University noted that acting and dancing would have been his career path aside his music profession.

He told AJ Sarpong on 3Lounge, February 19 that he’s considering a part-time acting career this year.

“Yes, that’s something I’m even considering this year. So, you will see Mr Drew on your screens,” he confirmed on 3FM.

Mr Drew further emphasised that with his knowledge in Theatre arts, he usually offers some insight to music video directors he works with.

The ‘Dwe’ hitmaker says he believes he will be directing his music videos in future.

“Usually, I look at what you are bringing on board as a director and I’m like okay I want you to change this. This is the idea that I have, let’s work with this.

“So I always see myself or I see in the future that I will be directing most of my music videos,” he stated.

In 2021, he won the Best New Artist award at both Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and 3Music Awards.

Known for hit songs such as ‘Dwe’, ‘Mood’, ‘This Year’, ‘Case’ and ‘Sneaky’, Mr Drew is currently out with a new EP titled ‘The Loverboy’.
