Private legal practitioner and member of the ORAL Committee, Martin Kpebu, has shared insights on their report submitted to President John Dramani Mahama on February 10.

Speaking on Hot Edition with Alfred Ocansey on February 10, Kpebu emphasized the need for continuous oversight, particularly in how the Attorney-General proceeds with the recommendations.

He suggested that the Attorney-General might need to establish a specialized committee under his authority to facilitate thorough investigations and ensure proper follow-up on critical findings.

“We are looking at how the Attorney-General will go on to work, possibly set a committee under him to help with the investigations,” Kpebu stated, underscoring the necessity for a structured approach to addressing the issues raised in the ORAL Committee’s report.

Beyond institutional actions, Kpebu highlighted the crucial role of civic engagement in fostering accountability. He stressed the importance of conscientizing citizens on their responsibility to report misconduct and actively participate in governance processes.

“Conscientization of the citizens about being involved is important. People should still report whatever issue. See it, say it, sort it,” he urged, reinforcing the need for a culture of vigilance and public participation.
