The 2024 edition of Tidal Rave took place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra.
R2Bees, Kwesi Arthur, KiDi, Sarkodie, Black Sherif and Stonebwoy were among the top artistes who performed at the event.
Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall musician Stonebwoy delivered an interesting performance. The highlight of his performance was when he began to sing one of his patriotic song ‘Greedy Men’ to address illegal mining in the country.
Stonebwoy and his backing vocalist were all dressed in black attire, while another person was seeing waving the Ghana Flag behind the artiste as he performed.
This was to send signal to the leaders of the country that galamsey activities cannot continue to persist in the country as it is wreaking havoc to the nation.
Stonebwoy’s song “Greedy Men” addresses how leaders in the country are depleting the country’s natural resources through illegal mining (galamsey), cocoa smuggling, over-grazing, deforestation, and how these activities are detrimental to human health.
The song also urges leaders to consider future generations, as these activities can destroy generational wealth and health.
