This will be achieved through capacity building and providing access to financing for equipment acquisition.
He reaffirmed Dr. Bawumia’s plan to collaborate with the private sector to establish a Minerals Development Bank, which will support the mining industry.
Highlighting the significant number of Ghanaians involved in small-scale mining, estimated at around one million individuals, NAPO stressed the importance of transitioning these miners towards responsible mining practices.
He emphasised that this approach would not only lead to the creation of more wealth but also contribute to environmental conservation efforts.
He appealed to the miners to desist from polluting the water bodies and rally support for the former Minister for Tourism, Barbara Oteng Gyasi, who is the parliamentary candidate to drive developments to the area.
