Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions played out a 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, in a clash that tested the unbeaten runs of both sides.
Despite dominating possession with 54%, Hearts of Oak struggled to break down a well-organised Lions defence.
The hosts created more chances, registering 10 shots with three on target, but were unable to convert any into goals. Heart of Lions, while more conservative, made their presence felt on the break, though they failed to trouble Hearts of Oak's goalkeeper replacement in a match where defensive solidity prevailed. Lions managed four shots, none on target, highlighting the difficulty of finding openings against the home side.
Hearts of Oak played without goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who was with the Ghana squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, but the rest of the team coped well under the leadership of their defensive line. The match was tight and tactical, with Hearts of Oak enjoying more attacking corners (7-2) and ball control, while Lions remained compact and disciplined.
Both teams leave the Accra Sports Stadium unbeaten, with Hearts of Oak maintaining their defensive record and Heart of Lions continuing their strong start to the season. The result leaves both sides with points to build on, emphasising the competitiveness at the top of the Ghana Premier League.
