Defender Jerome Opoku has shared his excitement after Ghana sealed their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following victory over Comoros Island.
The four-time African champions defeated Comoros 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday to finish top of Group I.
Kudus' second half strike was enough as the Black Stars amassed 25 points from ten matches and book their spot at the tournament in North America.
Opoku was an unused substitute in the victory but made five appearances across the series to help Ghana achieve their World Cup goal.
He posted after the game: " Good morning ! WC’26 see you soon. Premature formation."
The former Fulham player is expected to make the squad for the competition next year, his first tournament as a Ghana player.
Ghana will find out their opponents for the group stage of the competition in a draw to be held in Washington, DC on December 5, 2025.
