Black Starlets head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum is implementing a meticulously structured preparation strategy for Ghana's WAFU Zone B U17 Championship campaign, emphasising refinement over innovation as their tournament opener against Togo approaches.
Speaking to GFA Communications, Ogum revealed his philosophy of avoiding new tactical introductions during the final phase of preparation: "This is not the time to introduce new variables into the training session. This is the time to revise what they've gone through in terms of tactical orientations defensively and offensively."
"We just went back to some of the tactical things we've been doing in terms of how we stay compact if we don't have the ball. How we try to track the opponent's running into space," Ogum explained, detailing the specific elements being refined.
With the Black Starlets set to face Togo on Saturday, Ogum's commitment to systematic preparation without "new variables" represents a calculated strategy to ensure his young team enters their opening match with clarity, confidence, and complete understanding of their tactical responsibilities.
