Bibiani Gold Stars forward Ronald Frimpong is undoubtedly confident his outfit will triumph over Asante Kotoko to annex the Champion of Champions clash.
The Miners, who emerged as champions of the Ghana Premier League last season will play host to FA Cup winners Asante Kotoko at the Duns Park on Sunday, August 31 to usher in the new season, which kick start on September 12.
Ahead of the game, the former Real Tamale United star has affirmed his outfit will prevail over Kotoko to secure the Champion of Champions title.
“Our match against Kotoko in the Champion of Champions is a big game, altogether, but Bibiani Gold Stars will carry the day on Sunday, August 31,” he said.
Goldstars recently secured the GHALCA Top 4 title, with Asante Kotoko finishing bottom following an unimpressive performance at the tournament.
The high-stake clash between Goldstars and Kotoko also forms part of the teams’ preparation for the upcoming CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup campaigns.
Goldstars will face JS Kabylie in the Champions League, while Kotoko takes on Nigeria club Kwara United next month.
