Hearts of Oak coach Didi Dramani has played down his side’s penalty defeat to Bibiani GoldStars, insisting the performance offered enough positives despite the result.
The Phobians fought from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw in regulation time but fell 5-4 in the ensuing shootout in their GHALCA Top 4 fixture on Friday night.
“It’s not a bad day. Losing is part of it and we’ve learned a lot from it. Those are the good points we take from here,” Dramani reflected after the match.
GoldStars went ahead early when Samuel Atta Kumi converted a penalty in the 18th minute, before doubling his tally in the 34th minute after a rebound from Sampson Eduku’s effort.
Hearts responded with goals from George Paaku just before halftime and Mohammed Hussein early in the second half.
GoldStars’ Vincent Atingah held his nerve to score the decisive penalty, pushing his side to five points, one ahead of Hearts.
