Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones could not hide his admiration for Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, whose stunning strike handed Leicester City a 1-0 victory in the English Championship.
Fatawu, only 21 years old, scored his first goal of the season with a thunderbolt from 30 yards that proved to be the match-winner. Jones admitted after the game that his side had been undone only by a moment of pure brilliance.
“He’ll end up in the Premier League in a week’s time. That was the only difference. It took a one-in-a-million strike to win the game for them from 30 yards,” the Charlton boss said.
The winger has been growing in influence for Leicester, and this performance further highlighted why many believe he is destined for the very top. His long-range effort not only secured three points for the Foxes but also left opposition fans applauding the sheer quality of the finish.
Issahaku’s wonder goal could be a defining moment in his season, as Leicester continue their push to return to the Premier League.
