David Winnie, the legal representative to former Hearts of Oak Technical Director Rene Hiddink, has slammed the Ghanaian giants, accusing them of dishonesty.
Rene Hiddink was appointed in July 2023 but parted ways with the club just eight months later.
After his dismissal, Hiddink lodged a complaint with FIFA over Hearts of Oak’s failure to settle a $150,000 compensation following the premature termination of his contract.
FIFA ordered the Ghana Premier League club to clear the debt within 90 days, but the club failed to comply.
As reported by GHANAsoccernet, FIFA has now slapped Hearts of Oak with a registration ban, restricting the club from signing and registering new players for the next three transfer windows.
Today, the Phobians issued a statement to respond to the ban, assuring supporters that they are engaging “relevant parties, including the Ghana Football Association and FIFA, to resolve the matter swiftly and responsibly.”
Reacting to this statement, David Winnie, who is the legal representative of Rene Hiddink, accused Hearts of Oak of dishonesty, stressing that the club has never acted in good faith.
“I received a letter from FIFA, and I also saw a letter from Accra to their fans about the ban. It said they would contact FIFA and Rene. But that's absolute nonsense. That's how the club has behaved throughout this case - dishonest, lying, never acting in good faith, it's complete rubbish,” David Winnie told Akoma FM.
