Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have assured supporters that they are working to resolve the transfer ban imposed by world football governing body, FIFA.
FIFA has recently slapped the Phobians with a ban, restricting the club from signing and registering new players for failing to settle an outstanding debt to former Technical Director Rene Hiddink
In a statement from Hearts of Oak acknowledging the ban from FIFA, the club said all efforts are being made to ensure the ban is lifted.
“Accra Hearts of Oak wishes to inform its cherished supporters, stakeholders, and the wider football community of a recent communication from FIFA regarding the Rene Hiddink matter.
“FIFA has confirmed the implementation of a registration ban on the club due to unresolved financial obligations. We acknowledge the seriousness of this development and wish to assure our supporters that the Management and Board are actively engaging all relevant parties including the Ghana Football Association and FIFA to resolve the matter swiftly and responsibly,” the Hearts of Oak statement said on Friday.
Meanwhile, the club has clarified that the ban will not affect the players recruited already.
“Importantly, we wish to clarify that our current player registrations had been completed prior to the enforcement of this ban. Therefore, there will be no immediate disruption to our squad or competitive commitments,” the Hearts of Oak statement added.
