Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has raised concerns over his team’s struggles in front of goal as the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament continues.
The Lions have found the net just once in their last two encounters with Hearts of Oak, conceding three goals in total.
They suffered a 2-0 defeat in the Homowo Charity Cup on Sunday, followed by a 1-0 loss in the Top 4 opener on Wednesday evening.
Hayford’s side is set to face Asante Kotoko in their second Top 4 fixture at 15:00 GMT at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
The veteran coach is hopeful his forwards can regain their sharpness before the league campaign kicks off.
“That has been our problem all this while [and] I have seen a lot from the two games [and] we are just preparing for the season, so the team has not gelled yet,” Hayford said.
He added, “We are preparing for the league, and all these games are preparatory games for the league, and it’s good for us.”
