Bibiani Gold Stars coach Frimpong Manso has praised his new signings for their effort in the 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
The experienced coach said the players who got the chance to feature showed promise and handled the big occasion well. For Manso, the result was important, but the bigger picture is helping the new recruits settle into the squad.
The match at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday night saw Kotoko take the lead through Albert Amoah. Gold Stars responded quickly when Samuel Attah Kumi calmly converted a penalty to bring the first half to an even score.
After the break, Kotoko suffered a setback when Henry Ansu’s back pass ended up in his own net, gifting Gold Stars the winner.
"It is not bad it is a process and as we go forward I think the understanding will come so I think those that got the opportunity they all did well," Manso told Bibiani Gold Stars Communications.
Gold Stars now turn their attention to a tricky clash with Hearts of Oak.
