Bibiani Gold Stars coach Frimpong Manso has praised the club’s supporters after guiding his side to their first victory in the GHALCA Top 4 tournament.
Manso’s men secured a 2-1 win over FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday night. Despite fans not being present, the coach said he felt their spirit with the team.
Kotoko took the lead through Albert Amoah, but Gold Stars equalized before halftime when Samuel Attah Kumi calmly converted a penalty. After the break, a misjudged back pass from Henry Ansu ended in an own goal, gifting Gold Stars the opener they needed.
Manso credited the club’s followers for their unseen support.
"What we tell them every day is where we are now it is not only the team that got here they are all part of the journey here," he told Bibiani Gold Stars Communications.
"Although we know there were not here but we know they followed the team with their hearts backed with prayers so we are excited and appreciate all what they do for us,"
