Ghana forward Felix Afena-Gyan says his move to Amedspor presents the right environment to rediscover his best form after a difficult spell in Italy.
The 22-year-old sealed a loan switch from Cremonese to the Turkish second-tier side for the remainder of the season, with an option for a permanent transfer.
“This is a good place to step up and get back to my best,” Afena-Gyan said after his unveiling on Wednesday, expressing optimism about his new challenge.
The loan to Amedspor is the striker’s second since joining Cremonese in 2022. His first was with Juventus Next Gen in Italy’s Serie C last season, where he showed signs of progress by scoring 10 goals in 30 appearances.
Afena-Gyan’s career has faced setbacks since his permanent departure from AS Roma.
In his first year at Cremonese, he made 23 Serie A appearances, starting only eight, before injuries disrupted his development. A fracture ruled him out for much of the following campaign in Serie B.
Now at Amedspor, the young forward hopes consistent playing time and a new atmosphere will reignite his career as he looks to establish himself once again.
