Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Gidi has disclosed his dreams of winning trophies with FC Cincinnati following his move to the Major League Soccer.
The 22-year-old joined the Orange and Blub on a three-year deal with the option of a further 12 months from Slovakian club MSK Zilina in the summer transfer window.
The versatile midfielder is expected to beef up the Cincinnati midfield as the Eastern Conference leaders eye the 2025 MLS title.
“I’m really happy to join this club,” Gidi told the club's media. “I am always ready to give my all for the club, to achieve any goal set, and win some trophies.”
He is expected to join his new teammates following the receipt of his P-1 Visa.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati's General Manager Chris Albright believes the addition of the talented midfielder makes them a force to reckon with.
“We’re excited to add Samuel to the team,” he said. “He’s a talented midfielder with significant European experience despite his young age. His versatility across the midfield and strong mentality make him an excellent fit for our group. We look forward to welcoming him to Cincinnati.”
Gidi made 109 appearances for Zilina, scoring nine goals and delivering eight assists before leaving for United States.
