Hearts of Oak commenced their campaign in the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 with a narrow 1-0 win against Heart of Lions on Wednesday night.
This year’s tournament was initially supposed to be held at the Baba Yara Stadium, but had to be moved to the University of Ghana Stadium due to ongoing renovation works.
In the encounter between Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions, both teams put up a strong fight in a bid to secure victory.
Despite the many chances created between the two teams, only one goal was recorded.
An own goal by Ebenezer Abban in the 38th minute after a well-taken free-kick by Ransford Mensah propelled Hearts of Oak to victory at the end of the 90 minutes.

After the win against Heart of Lions today, Hearts of Oak will now prepare for a second match against Bibiani Gold Stars on Friday, August 22.
Lions, on the other hand, will face off with Asante Kotoko in their second match of the GHALCA Top 4 tournament.
