Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku, has assured that they will have adequate preparations ahead of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Ghana Premier League giants have been paired with Nigerian side Kwara United in the first round of the preliminary round of games.
The first leg of the encounter will be staged at Kotoko's home between September 19 and 21, with the return in Nigeria from September 26 to 28.
Speaking ahead of the game, Sarfo Duku assured that the playing body will prepare adequately to avoid any possible embarrassment.
"Playing in Africa is like going to war, and so you must be prepared to play any side, but on paper, you might think it is a done deal for Asante Kotoko, but it is not so," he told Asempa FM.
"If you look at Kwara United, who are from a football country, and if they are able to book a spot in the Confederation Cup, it means they have made an investment, so you cannot overlook them like that.
"It is up to Asante Kotoko to ensure they get adequate preparation to avoid any embarrassment. We must focus on Wydad, but the focus must be on Kwara United and ensure we qualify for the next round before thinking about playing Wydad in the second round," he added.
The winner of the tie will face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the next round.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are currently in Cape Coast for their second phase of their pre-season. They will compete in the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 in Accra later this month.
