
…as EFG marks 15years of` rewarding entrepreneurial excellence
Ghana’s seasoned entrepreneurs, industrialists and topmost private sector business leaders have been recognized for their immense contribution to the country’s social and economic growth aspirations over the years at the 15th edition of the Ghana Entrepreneurs Awards, held over the weekend at the plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
This year’s event, themed: “Celebrating 15 years of honouring entrepreneurial excellence” awarded a select pool of entrepreneurs whose personalities and brands have left lasting impact in Ghana’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Eight distinguished personalities were honoured with the legacy lifetime achievement awards for showcasing excellence in entrepreneurship by steering the sustained growth and expansion of their respective businesses over the past decades.
Recipients of this prestigious recognition were Dr. Sam Jonah, executive chairman of Jonah Capital; Togbe Afede XIV, founder of Strategic Initiatives Ltd.; H.R.M Naa Prof. Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, Founder of Rabito Clinic; and Dr. Paul Kofi Fynn, chancellor and founder of Wisconsin International University College Ghana.
Other award winners in this category included Dr. Francis Akuamoah Boateng, founder/executive chairman of Strategic Security Systems International Ltd; Dr. Felix Kwaku Anyah, executive chairman of Holy Trinity Medical Centre and Holy Trinity SPA and Health Farm.; Mr. Parshotam Aidasani, founder and chairman of Jay Kay Group; and Mr. Gopal Vasu, chief executive officer of M&G Pharmaceuticals Limited.
Another set of distinguished entrepreneurs were honoured with the most influential entrepreneur of all time award for creating lasting impacts throughout their entrepreneurial journey across sectors and communities.
Winners in this category were Dr. Daniel McKorley, founder and chairman of McDan Group; Mr. Bernard Joseph, chief executive officer of Sunshine Healthcare Ltd; Mr. Mukesh V. Thakwani, founder and chairman of B5 PLUS Group; Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, executive chairman of Jospong Group of Companies; Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan, chief executive officer of L’aine Services Ltd; Ms. Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah, founder and chief executive officer of Strategic Communications Africa (Stratcomm Africa); Dr. Paul Sekyere Nyantakyi, chief executive officer of MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Ltd; and Dr. Nora Bannerman-Abbott, chief executive officer of Sleek Garments Export Limited.
Other winners included: Dr. Christian Kwasi Agyeman, chief executive officer, Taabea Group of Companies; Mrs. Patience Tsegah, managing director, Unicom Chemists Ltd; Mr. Hayssam Fakhry, managing director of Interplast Ltd; Mr. Jean -Paul Achkar, founder and senior managing director of Everpack Ltd; Mr. Talal Ghandour , chief executive officer of Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd; Mr. Pawan Aidasani, chief executive officer of Jay Kay Industries and Investments Limited; Mr. Nazem Khaled Karroum, chairman of Samir Group of Companies; and Nana Dr. Emmanuel Adu Sarkodee Afriyie, group chairman, CDH Financial Holdings Ltd.
The rest were Mr. David Osei Amankwah, managing director of David Walter Limited; Dr. Mrs. Kate Quartey-Papafio, chief executive officer of Reroy Group of Companies; Dr. MacDonald Vasnani, chief executive officer of Consolidated Shipping Agencies Ltd; Dr. Theresa Oppong-Beeko, chief executive officer, Manet Group of Companies; Mr. Moses Baiden Jnr.; founder and chairman of Margins ID Group; Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay, executive chairman of JL Holdings Ltd; Mr. Daniel Awuah Darko, executive chairman of Vanguard Assurance Company Ltd; Dr. Osei Kwame, executive chairman of Despite Group of Companies; and Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, executive chairman of Special Group of Companies.
In a speech read on his behalf, the Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, commended the awardees for braving the odds of the economy over the years to build legacies and blueprints that continue to shape the country’s entrepreneurial landscape and pledged government support to the private sector community through prudent policies and business-friendly initiatives.
“Ghana does not belong to government alone, but also the men and women who wake up every day and turn ideas into enterprises. You’re our silent nation builders.
These honours must remind us that true success is not fleeting; it is measured by long-term impact, transformation of industries, and legacies that outlive individuals,” he added.
