Dreams FC coach Winfred Dormon has expressed confidence that Abdul Karim Zito can steer Asante Kotoko to the final of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
Zito, who recently signed a permanent two-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors, will lead the club in CAF’s second-tier competition.
The veteran trainer last featured in the tournament in 2024, guiding Dreams FC to the semi-final stage with Dormon as his assistant.
Speaking to Joy Sports ahead of the preliminary round draw, Dormon described Zito as a “formidable” and vastly experienced coach.
”Well, Karim Zito is a formidable coach, highly, highly experienced. He has seen it all, and I can only wish him all the best.
“I believe that the success, together with chalked at Dreams FC, he will be able, you know, to maintain that success, and even go beyond the semi-final.”
Kotoko’s Confederation Cup journey will begin against Nigeria’s Kwara United in the first preliminary round.
The Ghanaian side will host the first leg between September 19 and 21 before travelling for the return fixture from September 26 to 28.
If successful, Kotoko will face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the second preliminary round, with matches scheduled for October 17â19 and October 24â26.
