Esbjerg fB sporting director Sebastian Brydegaard has hinted at a possible long-term future for Richmond Gyamfi at the club, following the Ghanaian youngster’s loan move from AGF.
The 20-year-old attacker, who impressed during his earlier stint at Hobro IF, completed a season-long loan switch to Esbjerg earlier this week in a move aimed at reigniting his promising career.
Although the current deal only runs until the end of the 2025/26 season, Brydegaard suggests the partnership could extend beyond the initial agreement.
“We have agreed on a one-year deal that allows both parties to evaluate the collaboration,” he told the club’s official website.
“But right now, we are just excited to get started and see him develop on the training ground. Time will tell if this becomes a long-term partnership.”
Gyamfi, who signed a long-term deal with AGF until 2029, has struggled to break into the first team and is now eager to make his mark in the Betinia League with Esbjerg.
The club views him as a fresh addition to boost their attacking options after the departure of Tim Freriks to Viborg FF.
He is expected to begin training with his new teammates this week.
