Former Black Stars player Charles Kwabla Akonnor has begun work as head coach of Kenyan giants Gor Mahia.
The ex-Ghana coach and his technical team met the players for the first time as preparations started ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Akonnnor, who signed a two-year deal to lead the club in the upcoming campaign, took his players through some drills as well as ball work on the first day.
According to the former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak trainer, the pre-season period will help him teach the team his philosophy and style of play.
"Pre-season is a situation gradually we will first get to know the players and also the same time trying to implement the idea of how we want to play. So we will combine the way of letting them have the fitness and understanding the style of play," he said.
Akonnor will be supported by a Ghanaian technical bench following the appointment of Bismark Kobby Mensah as his assistant with Ben Owu serving as goalkeepers trainer.
Joshua Kofi Boafo will serve as the club's video analyst.
