English-born Ghanaian midfielder Cameron Antwi produced an impressive performance to help Newport County secure qualification in the EFL Cup play-offs over Barnet.
The 23-year-old started and played full throttle of the match as his outfit edged out Barnet on penalties to book a place in the next round of the Cup competition.
Both teams played out a 2-2 draw in a high-stake clash on Wednesday, with Newport County defeating Barnet 4-2 in the shootouts.
The English-Ghanaian midfielder opened the scoring for the visitors in the 31st-minute mark after being set up by Lee Jenkins before Michael Reindorf doubled the advantage for the club as they went to the halftime break with the advantage.
Newport County were cruising to victory until Barnet staged a strong comeback in stoppage time to force extra-time in the highly competitive clash.
Goals from Ryan Galvin and Rhys Browne in injury-time ensured the game travel to extra-time. However, it was Newport County, who emerged as winners after securing a 4-2 win on penalties.
The midfielder joined Newport County in July 2024, with his current deal expected to expire in summer 2026.
