German-Ghanaian defender Benjamin Henrichs finds his rhythm again in personal training return
Benjamin Henrichs has taken the first real step on his long road back to full fitness with RB Leipzig.After nearly seven months out with a torn Achilles tendon, the German-Ghanaian defender was back at the clubs training ground on Monday, not in team drills, but on the pitch nonetheless.Following a focused two-week stint at the Red Bull Performance Center in Los Angeles, Henrichs returned to Leipzig for the start of pre-season. Though he didnt join team sessions, he was seen working individually with the ball, an encouraging sign for fans hoping to see the full-back return soon.The injury, which ended his season early, remains a serious concern. Thats why Leipzigs medical staff are taking no chances. Reports suggest Henrichs may not be reintroduced to full training until mid- or even late August.Still, being back among teammates is a mental boost. Sporting director Marcel Schafer had promised Henrichs would report on time, and he did. Now, its a matter of careful steps and patient progress on the path to a full comeback.
