Ghana coach Otto Addo has announced a 24-man squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
Otto Addo’s 24-man squad will open camp on Monday, September 1, 2025, and are expected to train at the Accra Sports Stadium before departing for N’djamena Tuesday evening ahead of the Chad encounter on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The Black Stars would then face Mali on Monday, September 8, 2025, which could bolster their chances of securing an automatic spot at next year’s FIFA World Cup.
The 24-man squad, which includes Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams, among others, are expected to start arriving after this weekend’s round of fixtures for their respective clubs.
Otto Addo also handed Union Berlin left-back Derrick Arthur Kohn his first call-up to the national team after his impressive outing at Werder Bremen last season.
The Black Stars have been boosted with the return of Tariq Lamptey, while Caleb Yirenkyi, who had a stellar outing in the Unity Cup, has been included in the squad.
Ghana currently occupies first position in Group I of the African Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with 15 points after five wins and one loss from six matches.
Comoros are second with 12 points, Madagascar have 10 points in third, while Mali have nine points. The Central African Republic have five points in fifth position, while Chad are at the bottom with no points.
