SIC Life, last week, conferred awards on several outstanding staff and sales representatives, as well as exceptionally performing business offices with regards to sales, during an end-of-year durbar held at its Accra Mall office, known as SIC Mall. This was the 2025 edition of an annual tradition, but it stood out for its being part of an ongoing corporate reset agenda aimed at recovering businesses it has lost in years past and winning new ones going forward. Consequently, for the first time, it was attended by the company’s Board Chairman, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu, and three other board members, as well as Ghana’s Insurance Commissioner, Dr. Abiba Zakaria.
The awards, dubbed the ‘Sika Plan Awards’, recognised outstanding performance among sales representatives and offices between January and November 2025. The awards were given based on premium income production, new business efficiency and overall growth.
Three sales representatives won individual awards for Exceptional Premium Income Production, while Michael Ayum Batsa of the company’s Tema office took the award for Best Performing Sales Representative, in new business production.

Special awards were conferred on 12 sales executives for best performance in the sales of various products such as Education Plan Plus, Final Journey Plus, Ultimate Farmsec, Loan Protector and Group Business from various branch offices.
Hon. Yakubu Issifu won the award for Highest Premium Mobilisation, core life.
Several long service awards were also conferred, these being instituted to reward staff who have served the company for many years. There were seven categories of long service awards, these being 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, 35 years and 40 years. Awardees were given some items and cash.
For 2025, 41 permanent staff, 19 Sika Plan staff and eight core life contract workers were conferred with long service awards, while another three retirees were also awarded for their dedicated service to the company.
Addressing staff at the event, the Board Chairman described the durbar as a “celebration of our resilience, achievements and collective efforts that have brought us to this point.”
He asserted that the event provides an opportunity to “assess where we are and where we are going as a team with a common purpose.”
The Board Chairman declared this era as one of exciting opportunities , but major challenges, noting that government’s reset agenda calls for measurable results.
“We have the people and the capacity” he declared. “What remains is the collective commitment to move the company forward.”
