Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari prioritised a return to Europe as he commits to Polish side Widzew Åódź seeking renewed competition and proximity to family.
Bukari joined Widzew Lodz from MLS outfit Austin FC on a permanent deal until June 2030. The versatile attacker returns after spells in Slovakia Belgium France and Serbia.
A product of RSC Anderlecht academy he rose at AS TrenÄÃn with 16 goals and 25 assists in 66 games. He later featured for KAA Gent and FC Nantes before excelling at Red Star Belgrade with goals and assists in European competition. In May 2024 he joined Austin FC, making 50 appearances with six goals and eight assists, three goals and five assists of them in the 2025 MLS season.
"I can say that Austin was good, but as a footballer you have to change the environment sometimes, sometimes it’s also about the family. I wanted to go back to Europe and continue my career here. I was convinced by the conversation about what Widzew is looking for and what kind of player he wants to get. I am happy to be in Åódź," Osman Bukari said after signing.
Osman Bukari is expected to strengthen the frontline of Widzew Lodz in the Polish Ekstraklasa.
