
Doris Kafui Afanyedey has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana (AmCham Ghana), succeeding Simon Madjie, who served the Chamber for more than a decade.
Her appointment ushers in a new phase of leadership for the Chamber at a time when U.S.–Ghana trade relations are deepening and businesses are looking for stronger advocacy, partnerships, and market expansion opportunities.
Doris is described by colleagues as a results-driven leader with an eye for strategy and execution, brings with her nearly two decades of experience in leadership roles spanning Africa and the Middle East. Her professional background demonstrates a consistent record of driving revenue growth, strengthening partnerships, and delivering results across diverse sectors.
Profile of Doris Kafui Afanyedey
Before joining AmCham Ghana, Doris served as?Director of Sales, Engineering, and Independent Channel?at?Cummins Africa Middle East ABO, where she was responsible for building strategic partnerships across Industrial segments including Mining, Marine, Oil and Gas, and supporting distribution partners throughout the region.
From?2019 to 2022, she was the?General Manager of Cummins Ghana Limited, where she spearheaded the development of a comprehensive three-year strategic plan that clearly articulated the company’s vision and objectives, while driving execution and business growth in Ghana.
Prior to her tenure at Cummins, Doris served as?Managing Director of UCS Facility Management Ghana Limited, where she provided strategic leadership and guided the company into a position of strength within the facilities management sector.
Doris begun her career in marketing at SC Johnson Ghana, where she worked for 18 years in various roles in Marketing and Sales gaining extensive experience in sales, operations, and business development, taking the role Managing Director from 2009 to 2014
Doris is widely recognized for her expertise in?business development, strategic thinking, leadership, and stakeholder engagement, skills that she will now bring to bear in advancing the mandate of AmCham Ghana.
Vision for AmCham Ghana
In her first remarks as CEO, Doris underscored her commitment to collaboration and results, stating:
“I look forward to engaging with you (AmCham Members), understanding your pain points, and delivering value to you as our mandate dictates.”
Her leadership is expected to focus on strengthening U.S.–Ghana trade relations, advocating for policies that support business growth, expanding member services, and introducing innovative approaches to stakeholder engagement.
