
FirstBank Ghana has appointed Osahon Ezekiel Ogieva as its new Deputy Managing Director (DMD), marking another significant step in the Bank’s drive to strengthen its leadership and accelerate growth in the banking industry.
Mr. Ogieva brings over 25 years of multi-sector experience spanning Petroleum Services, Manufacturing, Banking and Financial Services. His expertise covers the broad areas of Administration, Project Management, Risk Management, Loan Administration and Controls, Credit, Marketing, and Relationship Banking.
He joined the Corporate Banking Directorate at First Bank of Nigeria Limited in 2015, after a distinguished career at UBA PLC and Fidelity Bank PLC. At First Bank of Nigeria Ltd, Osahon rose to become Group Head, Telecoms and other Conglomerates Businesses within the Corporate Banking Directorate, managing a portfolio valued at US$720 million.
In this role, he successfully led deal origination, high-level negotiations, and complex transaction structuring, contributing to the Bank’s leadership position in Nigeria’s corporate banking sector.
A trained economist, Mr. Ogieva earned his first degree in Economics from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He holds a Joint MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA and the Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada, in addition to an MBA from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria.
His credentials are complemented by extensive executive education from globally renowned institutions including Stanford University (USA), INSEAD (France), Cranfield School of Management (UK), and the Lagos Business School (Nigeria).
Over the past two decades, Mr. Ogieva has been recognised as a thought leader in macroeconomic policy and has been actively involved in virtually every landmark telecom sector deal in Nigeria during that period.
His unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and stakeholder engagement skills position him to play a pivotal role in advancing FirstBank Ghana’s ambitious growth and transformation agenda.
