Acting Chief Executive Officer for Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC), Dr. Sofo Tanko Rashid-Computer has said EOCO has done no wrong in arresting and detaining Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Bosiako.
Dr. Tanko Rashid-Computer claimed that EOCO is only abiding by the law by arresting Chairman Wontumi. and questioning him on what he says is “many ills” committed by Wontumi.
Speaking in an interview on TV3 New Day’s The Big Issue, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, he explained that members of the NPP are becoming “lawless” and acting hypocritical.
He asserted that during the previous NPP administration, state security agencies used similar modus operandi to arrest some individuals based on some allegations.
The GIFEC CEO urged NPP supporters and members to allow the law to work.
“There is too much lawlessness in this country and it is becoming unbecoming. We worship a lot of ills in this country and people think because they are getting worship from these brainwashed citizens, they think that they are above the law.
“The ills this gentleman (Chairman Wontumi) has committed against this country, more are even coming. They should allow the law to work. Is this the first time that they are seeing people being detained and invited by the police.
“Their hypocrisy is becoming too much. They just left office five months ago and they are behaving as if they were in opposition for 30 years,” he stated.

He stressed that EOCO has not violated any law by arresting and detaining Chairman Wontumi over some allegations.
“This state security is not just coming into force under President John Mahama, they have existed for long.
“The gentleman had a penchant for misbehaving. If EOCO acted illegally, they should tell us which part of the law did EOCO violated,” he added.
He said the era where party members or individuals hide behind political colours to misbehave must not be condone.
