Defending champions of the Rugby League Fed¬eration Ghana (RLFG) Men’s 13s Championship, Bulls RLFC, were held to a pulsating 24-24 draw by newcomers, Dragons RLFC, in a thrilling week- three fixture played at the University of Ghana Rugby League Stadium last Sunday.
Both sides came into the game chasing their second win in the three-week-old league; however, it was the newcomers who nearly shocked their opponents but for a late injury to kingpin Innocent Alatey in the final moments of the game.

Dragons started the game on a good note and took an early lead through a penalty kick from Alartey. David De-Souza crossed the line for a try, which was converted by Alartey.
The Bulls responded just before the break with a try from Desmond Geotrah, with Leslie Boadu converting to bring the score to 8–6 in favour of the Dragons.
Fans were entertained with some end-to-end action after the break as Bright Bawah and Hakeem Sugri crossed the line for the Bulls, while the Dragons hit back with tries from Kofi Adusei and Alartey, who also continued his reliable form with his feet to secure crucial conversions.

With five minutes remaining, and the Bulls trailing 24–20, Bulls forward, Bawah, crossed the line again to level the score 24–24. However, Leslie Boadu’s conversion attempt hit the crossbar, denying the Bulls a late lead.
A last-minute onslaught by Alatey of Dragons was foiled with a heavy tackle from Alex Dorpenyo inches from the try line to prevent a try, while other attacks at the try line prove futile.
Earlier in the day, Nungua Tigers bounced back from their open day loss to record winners, Skolars RLFC, to whitewash debutant, UG Titans 82–0.
Tigers displayed sublime attacking prowess combined with solid teamwork throughout the first half to lead 30–0 at the break.
In the second half, they continued from where they left off, scoring 52 more points with tries coming from Andy Afotey Annang, Abdul Wahid, Tony Tawiah, Gideon Klugey, and Oliver Puman, while Kofi Montchon was exceptional with all 15 conversion kicks to ensure the massive win.
The win sees the Tigers now sitting 4th on the league log with three points, just behind the Bulls and Dragons, and three shy of leaders Skolars.
Week four comes up this Sunday with the Skolars facing off against the UG Titans, while the Accra Panthers take on the Dragons in what promises to be another exciting round of rugby league action.
