The Board Chairman of Ghana National Gas Company, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, has revealed that the Ghana Gas Trauma Centre is a top priority to boost healthcare delivery.
The announcement was made to the media after a working visit by the Ghana Gas Board and the Chief Executive Officer to inspect various projects undertaken by Ghana National Gas Company.
During a two-day working visit, the Ghana Gas Board, led by Chairman Kofi Totobi Quakyi, inspected ongoing projects, including the Cylinder Bottling Plant, Trauma Medical Centre, Ghana Gas Lodge, and a 20-bed mini-hospital at Ayinase.
The Board Chairman Totobi Quakyi emphasized that the Board’s assessment revealed significant work is needed to operationalize these facilities.

Highlighting the Trauma Centre’s importance, he noted its potential to serve the broader community once completed. With medical equipment already available, Mr. Quakyi stressed the need for medical support and facilities in the area.
He commended Management for their efforts, particularly in promoting Ghanaians to technical roles, and urged them to provide more staff training opportunities to enhance performance and service delivery.
“During our visit, we identified key areas needing attention. The trauma center, equipped but underutilized, will be a priority. It can serve the larger community, addressing medical needs. We’ll work with management to address this and other pressing issues, including the technical situation and spare parts availability. Proactive measures will be taken to enhance Ghana’s development and revenue generation,” he promised.
The Ghana National Gas Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Judith Adjobah Blay, emphasized that the Board and Management prioritize efficiency, aiming to minimize waste of money and secure financing to complete ongoing projects.

“We’re tackling long-stalled projects as part of our reset agenda. While Ghana Gas’ core operations are impressive and efficient, we’ll ensure auxiliary facilities support them effectively. To complete the bottling project, we’ll implement cost-cutting measures and secure necessary approvals, prioritizing efficiency and minimizing waste to generate revenue.” She assured.
