Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Opoku is excited to represent Ghana in the 2025 Unity Cup, set to feature a highly anticipated match against Nigeria on May 28.
With several high-profile players expected to miss the game due to the fixture not being on FIFA’s calendar, the Unity cup presents an opportunity for local talents to make an impact.
Ghana’s Black Stars management committee chairman, Randy Abbey, confirmed to 3Sports that some well-known players will be absent, allowing local players to showcase their skills.
One of those players who is eager to take the bull by the horn is Kotoko’s Kwame Opoku, who confirmed to Max TV he has been called up.
“I’ve heard a lot about the Unity Cup. It fosters unity among nations, footballers, and others. Hopefully, we will achieve the purpose of the competition.”
“The name justifies the competition. We are not looking to overly exert ourselves. It’s a friendly game to promote unity, and that’s what we’ll be focused on” Opoku added.
With a positive attitude and determination, Opoku is ready to take advantage of this opportunity and make a lasting impression in the Unity Cup.
